Before the creation of the Hinchee Foundation, Santa Barbara parents of children with severe disabilities faced heartbreaking choices when they could not longer take care of them at home. Only large institutions distances away from Santa Barbara. It was and still is a huge relief to find a facility that will give residents the care, respect and love they need in the atmosphere of a family home.

Our daughter has been at Hinchee for over 25 years and we couldn’t be happier with her placement. It truly is a family atmosphere with the most caring staff anywhere. We feel very blessed.

What I love about my sister being at Hinchee is that is a quaint house in a normal neighborhood where the residents eat together around a nice dining room table. Holidays are observed in a traditional manner and staff are kind and dependable. There is a feeling of family togetherness that can’t be replicated in larger facilities. It brings peace of mind to know she has her own home and people around her who care. I can visit readily and remain a vital part of her life. So Happy we were able to get her in after years on the waiting list.

What a blessing l as a mother has been given. Jesse Hopkins Hinchee Foundation has been the answer to my prayers for Christopher. Chris was one of the first residents of Milton House in Santa Barbara.
